The process for configuring, assembling, and rendering high-quality short- and long-form video is one of today's most complex and demanding computing tasks. Ad-revenue-based serialized content, movies, and documentaries each come with their own set of playback configurations. Add multi-lingual audio tracks, subtitles, internal edit marks and, advertising insertion to the demand for dozens or hundreds of such projects at a time, and the business case gets shaky.

SOLUTION /

Rather than improving the legacy, monolithic application, our engineers designed and deployed dozens of microservices to perform discrete contributions to a distribution order. Each microservice, or micro-application, answered to a call made by a particular set of configurations made by a new sales ordering system. The service shuts down once its work is done, conserving expensive resources.

CONCLUSION /

STAND 8 helped to bring massive new revenue opportunities by expanding distribution capacity. Innovative cloud-based microservices reduce errors and increase sales capacity without increasing overhead. The new system utilizes expensive cloud resources only when needed and quickly passes its output off to go back to inactive status. Enterprise IT assets are thus hyper-efficient. In addition, errors in one service do not hinder other services' operation, which allows the system to maintain needed continuity. Microservices from STAND 8 reduce Enterprise data errors while increasing capacity for growth without increasing overhead.
